Job Description

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to support financial operations for a real estate and property organization in Irvine, California. This is a Contract position, ideal for professionals with experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting software. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities: - Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. - Conduct bank and general ledger reconciliations, resolving discrepancies to uphold precise financial reporting. - Assist in the creation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. - Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring efficient coding and communication with vendors and customers. - Support month-end and year-end closing activities to finalize financial records. - Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Yardi to manage and track financial data. - Analyze financial transactions and provide reports on key metrics to assist management in decision-making. - Ensure adherence to accounting standards and practices while performing daily financial tasks. - Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field. - Proficiency in QuickBooks and Yardi accounting software. - Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. - Expertise in bank reconciliations and general ledger management. - Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries with attention to detail. - Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing procedures. - Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. - Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks effectively.
